When Emalee and Casey reached out to me to inquire about their wedding I just knew I wanted to be a part of it. Not only did we vibe instantly but when I also learned that they decided to host their summer wedding at the gorgeous Avanti Mansion in the garden tent I was so excited. I have been to Avanti plenty of times in the past and have had nothing but a phenomenal experience but each time was in the grand ballroom. I never experienced their garden tent reception and let me tell you, now that I have- it’s all I can think about. The tent and garden patio space just knocks it out of the park. If you are looking for an outdoor, picture-perfect venue, look no more. From the beautiful custom tent and the vibrant colorful florals, this was the wedding of my dreams.
Getting Ready Details
If you are one of my couples, you know how much I love a good flat lay and these colors did not disappoint. I absolutely love the vision Emalee had for these fun and bright florals and check out their vow books to match! This was such a fun flat lay to photograph!
First Look
Now, I am not one to force anybody into a decision and I will be the first to say that I used to be totally against a first look. I even vetoed it for my own wedding. But now after seeing countless first looks, I really regret not having one and if you ask for my opinion, I will always be PRO first look! There is just something about this intimate time seeing your soon to be spouse and having your moment together. And as a photographer I feel so honored to be able to witness this time. We laugh, we cry and share our nerves with you. Yes, we are just as nervous for this moment too. This moment is a big deal and we want to capture it 110% for you. But every first look I see is special in its own way and always leaves us with our hearts so full. When you see Emalee and Casey’s first look I think you may just want this for yourself too!
Another great benefit of a first look is being able to do all your bridal party portraits before the ceremony. This frees up time later for you to enjoy your cocktail hour with your guests! Win-win!
I always love it when couples add in unique elements to their day. When I learned what Emalee and her mom did to make her day even more special my jaw just about hit the floor! Emalee’s mom made her veil and included the pearls from her own wedding dress. AND Emalee’s bridal bouquet included some gorgeous Zinnias flowers from her moms garden. How awesome is that?!

Sunset Photos
Just before sunset, I took a look outside the tent and saw the gorgeous pink/orange sky and went straight to Emalee and Casey. I knew we had to capture this sunset for them and they were all for it! Let this be your sign that if you are ever on the fence about doing sunset photos, DO IT! It will only take about 10 minutes but it will be some of the best photos from your wedding day! I pinky promise!
Dancing The Night Away
After sunset photos, we headed back under the Avanti Mansion garden tent where Whirlin’ Disc kept the dance floor filled all night long! This was seriously one of the most memorable dance floors in my experience. Casey’s dance moves were KILLER and I could just see all their guest having the time of their life!
