To me, photography is so much more than photos.

They are the emotions of memories that we will never get back. It may sound cheesy, but a photo is the only piece of time that we get to hold onto forever. My photography style is natural and timeless with a true to life editing style. My goal is to capture the authentic laughs and love for my clients in a natural way. I guide my clients through gentle and light hearted poses while creating a comforting space to allow your true self to shine through. This is all part of the experience that makes photos fun and natural! No stiff prom poses here, I promise!

You could say my photography journey started 3 years ago

When I made my business official but it really started long before then. I have always loved photography. Ever since I got my first camera in middle school I have been dreaming of this day. I was always the friend with the camera taking candid shots of friends and documenting all of our adventures. It wasn’t until after college, while working in the “real world” that I felt like I was losing my creative side. So I picked up my camera again and haven’t looked back.

Fun facts

  • I have my masters degree in Occupational Therapy and when I am not behind the camera you can find me working in adult neuro-rehab.

  • I am married to my high school sweetheart, and we have 2 mini St. Berdoodles, George & Bruce. They are the best!

  • If you are wondering if I am a dog person, wonder no more. I welcome all fur babies to your sessions…seriously, bring them!

  •  I am a lover of Starbucks, HomeGoods, traveling, outdoor adventures and DIY projects (just call me Joanna Gains)- But in all seriousness, friends ask me for home decor advice all the time and it’s a guilty pleasure of mine. I often wonder if I should take up interior design as a 3rd job hahaha!

On a wedding day, I am so much more than your wedding photographer.

From day one when you book with me you book a friend. I am right there with you throughout your planning process as you plan your timeline, offer vendor suggestions, cheer you on when you find your dream dress, fix your hair during portraits, and give ya that extra bobby pin when the night gets wild on the dance floor.
